Home Coming – A Scape by Rahul Mukherjee

After 7 long years in this aquascaping hobby, where I was focused into dioramas I decided to go for true underwater natural look (the feel where aquascaping actually originated from) I was really into it not expecting any outcome but wanted the real underwater feel from outside and as such had to go with unconventional aquatic weeds which are not widely used in today’s layouts. A wide range of fishes are used in shooting it as if they were all in harmony and collaborating to the ecosystem.

It’s a carefully thought out procedure and I had all plans to materialise it in early 2024.

Maturation period was 3 months from hardscape to final photo. The stages are as follows.

Pic 2-Addition /subtraction and more addition with detailing

The dark mysterious underwater feel with shadows is what I really missed all these years. In short the aquascape gave me satisfaction as it’s the first real underwater theme I created over the years. It’s close to a biotope ,it’s not so popular now a days but it was once what inspired a lot of people into the hobby.
